AN INTIMATE, VERSATILE EVENT SPACE

The Molson Canadian Studio is a versatile, intimate venue that is perfect for hosting a variety of performing arts events. The space can be adapted from a traditional stage set-up to cabaret-style seating, among other options. Rental fees in The Studio include ushers, ticket takers, Box Office, credit card fees and all in-house audio and lighting (not including labour). Information on required labour and associated costs can be found below. For maximum value, book two performances on the same day.

Additional Rental Information

  • Front House (Ushers / Ticket Takers) - Included in Rental Fee

  • Stage Hands - A minimum of one stagehand (audio: $42.55 per hour) is required. Additional stagehands may be needed based on the size of the production. The stage hand is required in the theatre for the entire time the venue is in use, including load-in, sound check, performance time and load-out. A minimum call time of 4 hours applies. In order to provide an accurate estimate, a full outline of show requirements is required.

  • Box Office - Included in Rental Fee.  HECFI can print tickets off the system if you would like to sell them through other locations. Ticketmaster applies a convenience fee of $6.75 for every ticket sold in excess of $25.00 (unless purchased at the box office window).  If the ticket price is below $25.00, a fee of 20% of face value applies (minimum $3.25 per ticket).

  • CIF (Capital Improvement Fee) - Tickets in excess of $15.00 are charged a $2.25 per ticket fee for capital improvements.

  • Credit Card Usage - A fee of 3.5% applies to all credit card transactions.

  • Marketing - HECFI offers a full service marketing department that can provide services including access to discount rates for local media buys, media releases and in-house promotions, etc. A fee is determined on your overall advertising purchase.

  • Insurance - $2 million dollar certificate of insurance coverage is required for every event.

  • Deposit - Prior to making box office arrangements, HECFI requires a non-refundable deposit covering the full base rental fee along with a signed contract.

  • Merchandise - Hamilton Place collects a fee of 25% from all profit made on merchandise sold at events.
